A rather long show this week… This week George and I cover some scripting bits that George put together to track down a problem with Exchange as well as a little more on George’s LogParser script. We respond to listener feedback concerning the problems I was having with my iMac and a listener’s curiosity on the differences between BitLocker and EFS (Encrypted File System). We also have an Admin-to-Admin segment interview with the first place winner of the SysAdmin of the Year award, Sean Thomas.

TortoiseSVN, not TurtleSVN!
BTW, Visual Source Safe can hardly be considered equivalent to SVN. We transitioned from VSS to SVN (with TortoiseSVN for developers’ desktops) and it’s SOOOOO much better.
HA HA… that’ll learn me to just cut-and-paste! Thanks Mike.

Just getting starting with subversion myself. After installing the RPMs to get it working with Apache was a matter of editing conf.d/subversion.conf.
Make sure to create a Limit GET POST PUT OPTIONS PROPERTIES, require valid-user statement in there. This allows you to manage SVN users thru an apache .htpasswd file, which is really simple!
Loved the show – we also got the domain name scam this week – I threw it away so not sure if it was the same company that Kevin had.
The resume story was pretty amusing – can’t believe he was that cheeky to apply AND accept the job – what was he thinking?
