Cars complete -- ready for race day!
Ah… the construction phase is over, we are ready for race day!
Today was the final pinewood derby build clinic for our pack. From the look of things, cars are starting to come along nicely. Several cool cars by the boys — at least within our den. I’m eager to see what the rest of the pack has done.
Early this morning we finished up polishing the axles and finally installing the wheels on to the cars.
The theme this year is “eco-green.” Dan’s car (right) is supposed to be solar-powered — the panel on the top is supposed to represent a solar panel. Darrin’s car (center) is supposed to be a battery-powered coupe — hence the copper-top battery in the cockpit, and my car (far left) is supposed to be a car-shaped skate ramp — of course, with a skateboard on the hood.
So now we wait… official weigh in is Tuesday evening with the big race next Saturday. The kids should all have a blast!
