Today I:
Participated in a career arrow building work party. Each parent worked on their Scout’s arrow. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to obtain the rank and achievements information on each scout before I took over as the Webelos den leader as our Awards Chair is out of town. Each parent managed though.
Each parent was given several options on how to build the plaque which the arrow is mounted on. I fully intended on doing my son’s plaque and had an idea on how to do it. But the rest of the den handed it over to the Cubmaster who is going to mass produce them. The problem is, my son’s plaque is going to look different from the others. I’m sort of conflicted about this, but each parent was given an option and they chose easy (in my opinion). Since I’m nearly done, I’m thinking of showing mine to the Cubmaster to see if the rest wish to do it this way. It would require the purchase of another piece of wood (Oak) and then painting the AoL symbol yellow versus staining it as they all planned to do.

I would love to see pictures as you get this completed!
Will do! I still have another coat or two of paint on the arrow, then to Waterlox the plaque itself before adhering the two pieces together and mounting the career arrow.
Pictures definitely to come!
