Again… Bad idea Microsoft

As I posted before, please give us the ability to control this ourselves. On the Vista Team Blog they mention the startup sound issue that Robert Scoble blogged about last week.

I don’t want a signature sound of any kind on my machine — especially if I’m in an environment as I pointed out in that post. It’s disruptive, plain and simple. If you were manufacturing the hardware as well as the software, like the Xbox, it would be easier to swallow. But please provide us the ability to control this ourselves.
