NOTE: I believe the discrepencies that were explained at the end of the segment are due to different block sizes being used. The valentines day mnemonic works well for 1K blocks, but the finding pointed out later is more indicitive of a file system using 4K blocks. For more info, have a look at the man pages on e2fsck.

I have one of the wired versions, the 851, and I love it. I set it up and am in the process of configuring a ipsec gre tunnel to work to our pix. You can set it up that only certain machines can access the vpn tunnel, or create a separate wireless network (with a separate router) encrypted, for a machine to access the corporate network.

Regarding the libpcap processing, an appropiate technology to use here is netflow. If you are analysing protocols, you do not care too much about the data, and netflow can be setup to sample rather than return information on all data which can save space. nfsen is a good flow analyser.

Yup also on Carrie. They seriously botched that exam. Never did get her score to her so she retook it for free and kicked its butt prtty good today.
